This is the work I'm currently most interested in making. Most of these pieces are loose land-scapes; which probably interest me because Nature always stands resolutely in the present moment, and never fails to take me out of my pattern of overthinking things. The spatial layers in a natural landscape give me the opportunity in each painting to build up my own layers of paint, collage, and marks.

Occasionally I use photographs from my own walks as loose inspiration, but most of the landscapes are completely imagined. Again, it's the Storytelling that I'm excited by. My hope is that my landscapes introduce the viewer to a Place that feels familiar even though it doesn't exist. Or even better, a Place that the viewer really wants to visit.
